Barsuko Ola (Badger’s Hole) and neraby Lapės Ola (Fox Hollow) and Geologinis Takas (Geologists Pit) form a geotope which was developed for tourists with trails and educational signs. The short karst trail shows 13 different sinkholes. Lithuania is mostly a low plain, and even karstified areas have no caves. They are either very young and small or completely waterfilled, or both. But if the underground is karstified, there is often an abundance of dolines. The dolines here are the result of the dissolution of gypsum layers underground and the subsequent collapse of those chambers.
