1251-1277 St. Katflaap lives as a hermit in the cave.
1623 village founded and named after the Saint.

The Catacombs of Katflaap, sometimes also called the Catacombs of St. Katflaap, are located in the village Katflaap in the eastern Steppes. The catacombs are today a popular wine bar. The specialty are local wines from the Chateau Sultàna region and the local specialty Zeerstum (garlic vodka).
