Description

Combento Cave Pool or simply Combento Cave is located in Anda in Joan Avenue. The cave pools here are more or less collapse dolines which allow access to the waterfilled cave, similar to the Yucatán cenotes. This site is a little different, it’s actually a collapsed cave passage, which is filled with the debris, but on one side there is a cave opening. Walking down the pile of debris on a stone staircase the cave passage is reached, which is waterfilled. Similar to the cenotes the cave pool is used for swimming, but it’s a little darker in here. Lamps are not needed though, the daylight illuminates the cave with a blueish tint.

This site is also marked as Kaligoon Cave Pool, or sometimes Kaligoon cave & pool. We are not sure if this is a second cenote, an alternative name, or simply a misunderstanding. Unfortunately infos on this site are very sparse, and as far as we know the site is quite inofficial. While there is a staircase into the cave, there is no maintenance, no open hours, no fee, no signs. It is a geotope of the Geopark, but again the listing of the site on the Geopark website contains only "Lorem Ipsum". Even the name Joan Avenue is an exaggeration, this avenue is a sinle lane dirt track.
