History

Description

The Amazing Island Cave is developed with staircase leading down into the cave and a group of souvenir and food stalls around the entrance. A chance to buy some pasalubongs (souvenirs). Visitors are equipped with orange life jackets, because the cave is full of water. The pools are connected to the sea underground and change the level with the tides. Swimming is best when they are full, during high tide. So the water is actually a mixture of seawater and fresh water, and quite cold. Nevertheless, the life jackets are obviously a joke, not really necessary but a nice accessory to make the visit memorable.

The cave is entered down a staircase. The small chamber contains a cave lake and visitors start swimming. After swimming through a narrow passage a bigger chamber with an opening to the surface is reached. In the middle of the chamber, there is a small island. It is very serene and a good place for relaxation, but only when it is low tide.
