Động Tiên Phi (Tien Phi Cave, Fairy Lake Cave) is also called Động Tiên Phi Hòa Bình, as there is actually a second cave of this name on an island in Ha Long Bay. The cave is located 80 m above the Sông Đà (Black River) on the hillside, the entrance is facing northeast. There is a long staircase leading uphill to the cave entrance. The cave entrance is gated with an iron bar gate, a staircase leads down into the main passage. The first chamber is 15 m long, 8 m wide and 20 m high. The second chamber is 53 m long, 20 m wide and 10 m high. At the end of the passage there is a semicircular cave lake which is 3 m wide, 30 cm deep, with clear, cool water.
The cave is well developed with paved trails and electric light. It was developed soon after its discovery in 1982. It has nice speleothems, mostly stalactites. It seems the development was rather recently refreshed, although they never give dates in Vietnam, so we can only guess. But we read in a 2023 newspaper article that it "is expected to become a tourist destination drawing a large number of visitors". Be aware that it might be closed due to a non-existent warden.
