Description
Grotte Conturines is the highest altitude cave with
Cave Bear (Ursus spelaeus)
remains.
This bear lived here about 14,000 years ago, 2,800 m above sea level.
The Grotte Conturines contains numerous skeletons, which were studied at the University of Vienna by Prof. Rabeder.
